Are your relationships stressful? Either at home or at work? With friends or in dating? Regardless of type, there’s a common thread running through all relationships. In individual therapy, you can learn to see this thread, make positive changes, understand what makes other people tick, and connect more deeply with others.
Your life is largely defined by your relationships.
Whether it’s with a manager or coworker, parent or child, new love or old flame. So when relationships are painful, they can affect your entire being.
Many people experience:
❌ Challenges feeling liked or wanted
❌ A pattern of broken-down relationships
❌ Struggles to form healthy bonds that last
❌Frequent problems with friends or at work
❌Feeling irritable around others with no good explanation
❌A sense that you’re “different” from others in some fundamental way
❌A challenging relationship with oneself (lack of self-love and self-compassion)
In therapy-speak, these are symptoms of “interpersonal difficulties.”
For those who are struggling to feel good in everyday relationships, please reach out. I’d love to support you in understanding why that might be.
Then, we can work together (at a pace you’re comfortable with) to change these patterns of behaviour for good.

Let’s get more detailed. What types of relationships can I help you with?
Work Relationships
You can feel more at ease with coworkers, your manager, your employees (if applicable), and your role at your organization. End interpersonal conflicts, learn how to communicate assertively, and adopt healthy boundaries at work.
Parents and Family
They say nobody loves you like your family. It’s also true that nobody gets on your nerves like them, too. Come to individual therapy for support in asking for your needs to be met, communicating boundaries, and addressing long-standing family issues.
Your Children
You love them to death but they also drive you crazy. Whether your children are toddlers or full adults, therapy can help. Redraw healthy boundary lines with your children around money, how you will and won’t engage with them, and other issues important to your relationship with them.
Your Partner
If you’re having trouble with your partner, consider couples counseling. However, if you want to work on your side of the relationship, individual therapy is here for you. Get insights into your own upbringing, communication style, love language and more.
Relationship with Yourself
All your other relationships start with your relationship to yourself. You’ve heard this cliche before, and it’s a cliche for good reason. It’s true. By working on how you relate to and feel about yourself, all your other relationships will improve. How will more self-love, self-compassion, and self-respect help you?
This list is not limited to these relationships. If you have a relationship in mind that doesn’t fall into a neat category, please contact us using this button. I’d love to help you find relational peace.

Hi, I’m Giselle Young, mental health therapist in Ontario helping adults and teens.
My clients are often struggling with sharing themselves with others. They may have no one who knows their full story or what makes them feel vulnerable. And by the same token, they may not have someone to share their hopes and dreams with.
Many of my current and past clients battle anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-esteem challenges. So it can be hard to function to the best of their ability until we start to address these challenges.
It can be hard to feel safe enough to open up to those who know us. I know what that’s like as someone who’s struggled with anxiety and OCD her entire life. My flare ups would happen right when I most needed to stay calm and centered - graduating high school and university, building deeply connected relationships, and advocating for myself at work.
So if any of these are your current challenge, I know where you are, and I can help you get through it. I also relate to teens who feel anxious at school, overwhelmed with homework and afterschool activities, or who just need someone to listen to them talk.
Hi, I’m Polina Fedotenko, a registered psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada.
Today, I consider myself to be thriving. I’m a successful business owner, an attentive mother to my children, and a supportive wife for my husband. But it wasn’t always this way.
To get to where I am today, I’ve traveled a long way (both literally and figuratively). For example, I’ve immigrated not once, but twice.
The first time was when I was only fifteen. I left Russia to go to Israel, all without my parents. I didn’t know the language, tradition, or any of my peers in boarding school. Everything felt foreign and overwhelming. I struggled to find my path, and at times it seemed dark.
My second immigration came when I was twenty-one and a newlywed coming to Canada. My dreams were big but my pockets were empty. The struggles were different from my first migration, but just as hard. I still didn’t feel like I fit in (despite knowing the language this time). I doubted my abilities when things didn’t come easily, and I often felt that I wasn’t “enough”.
Eventually, I was tired of feeling lost, so I began reaching out for help. I started to make friends and finally began to feel like I fit in. By sharing my feelings with others, I no longer felt scared and alone. Eventually, I discovered my own path. I learned to listen to myself, use my strengths, and act with confidence.
Today I’m past the hard part. And as someone who has walked the walk, I will be there with you every step of the way. When you reach out, I will guide you on the path toward self-confidence, inner peace, and ease in your relationships.
In time, you’ll come to understand your own path. And I’ll be there to support and guide you every step of the way.
When you take the brave step of starting individual therapy, you can expect a few things:
Feeling supported, heard, and valued. As a relationship expert, I’m able to guide you from major relationship pain, to feeling confident, relaxed, and worthy. And that’s true whether the relationship is with a family member, friend, coworker, manager, or a new date.
You’ll join me in-person or virtually, whichever fits your schedule better. I keep your comfort in mind at all times, and I aim to help you reach your own comfort in mind. So know that progress is possible. Relationship pain doesn’t have to be a constant in your life.
I know how hard it is to begin counseling. That’s why I start every client with a free 15-minute phone consultation. To get your free consultation, email me and tell me a little about yourself and how I might help.
